Sungshin Women's University is a private women's university located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It was founded by Dr. Sook-Chong Lee in 1936. The university comprises ten colleges and five graduate schools, with total enrollment of about 12,000 students. Sungshin Women’s University is situated 540 metres east of Sungshin Women’s University.

Hyehwamun, also known as Northeast Gate, is one of the Eight Gates of Seoul in the Fortress Wall of Seoul, South Korea, which surrounded the city in the Joseon period. The gate is also known as Dongsomun. The gate was originally called Honghwamun. Hyehwamun Gate is situated 1¼ km southwest of Sungshin Women’s University.
