The present building was constructed between 1815 and 1855, on the site of a smaller church which had been built in the 17th century. It was built in 1725 by the Fondazione Vilhena of Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena, and was rebuilt in the 1780s. Ta‘ Kola Windmill is situated 780 metres southeast of Denda Living.
