Plaza del Sol is one of the largest shopping malls in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, Mexico, located in the municipality of Zapopan. The intent to build the temple was announced in a letter to local priesthood leaders on April 14, 1999, by the First Presidency. Guadalajara Mexico Temple is situated 2½ km north of Salvador Vargas.
