The 5 July 1962 Stadium, named after the day Algeria declared independence, is a football and athletics stadium located in Algiers, Algeria. The stadium was inaugurated in 1972 with a capacity of 80,000. 5 July 1962 Stadium is situated 2½ km southwest of La Bruyère.

The Algiers Observatory was built in the late 19th century in the Algiers suburb of Bouzaréah, Algeria, North Africa. It participated in the Astrographic Catalogue project, taking the zone between -2 and +4 degrees to expose 1,260 plates between the years 1891 and 1911. Astrophysical and Geophysical Astronomy Research Center is situated 3 km northeast of La Bruyère.
