North of 53
Northern Manitoba is a geographic and cultural region of the Canadian province of Manitoba. Manitoba originally encompassed only a small square around the Red River Colony, but it was extended north to the 60th parallel in 1912, thus acquiring a large northern region.Essential Destinations

Thompson, a city North of 53 in Manitoba, the largest city in northern Manitoba, and the third largest in the province. With a population of about 13,000, Thompson is the hub of the north. About 35% of the population is Indigenous.

Flin Flon is a city of about 5100 people North of 53 in Manitoba on the border with Saskatchewan. A small part of Flin Flon is located inside Saskatchewan, making it only one of two undivided border cities in Canada, although it is never enumerated as one of Saskatchewan's cities.
