Pyongyang is the capital city of North Korea, with about 2,750,000 inhabitants. It is on the Taedong River in the southwest of the country and is known as the Capital of the Revolution.

Nampo, also spelled Namp'o, is a major city in North Korea which is the country's fourth-largest by population. The city is an important seaport in the country as it lies on the northern shore of the Taedong River estuary, 15 km east of the estuary's mouth.

Hyangsan County is a county in the North P'yŏngan province of Pyongan in North Korea. The county is best known for Myohyangsan, which apparently has developed into a "tourism" area.
