Based on the 2021 national mid-term census, Kenema has a population of 255,110. making it the second most populous city in Sierra Leone after Freetown, and the largest city in the country's Eastern Province.

Makeni is the largest city in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. The city is the capital of Bombali District, and is the economic center of the Northern Province.
Koidu

Koidu Town is the capital and largest city of the Kono District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. Its population is 128,030 based on the 2015 census.
Mount Bintumani

Mount Bintumani is the highest peak in Sierra Leone and the Loma Mountains, at 1,945 metres. It lies in the Loma Mountains and its lower slopes are covered in rainforests, home to a wide variety of animals.
Tiwai Island

Tiwai Island is a river island and wildlife sanctuary in Sierra Leone. In 2025 it was listed as a natural UNESCO World Heritage Site together with nearby Gola Rainforest National Park.
Magburaka

Magburaka is a city in Sierra Leone. Magburaka is the former capital of the north of Sierra Leone. Makeni became the new capital during the war. Magburaka was a stop on the Bauya - Makeni branch of the now defunct Sierra Leone Railway.

Bonthe is a coastal town located on Sherbro Island in Bonthe District in the southern Province of Sierra Leone. The town lies on the eastern shore of Sherbro Island, on the Sherbro River estuary.
