Porto-Novo is the capital of Benin, located on the coast in the southeastern part of the country. Benin’s second largest city of approximately 250,000 people is a nice change of pace from the bustling Cotonou and has many nice features.

Agbome or Abomey is the capital of the Zou Department of Benin. The commune of Abomey covers an area of 142 square kilometres and, as of 2012, had a population of 90,195 people.

Ouidah or Whydah, and known locally as Glexwe, formerly the chief port of the Kingdom of Whydah, is a city on the coast of the Republic of Benin. The commune covers an area of 364 km2 and as of 2002 had a population of 76,555 people.
Grand-Popo

Grand-Popo is a town, arrondissement, and commune in the Mono Department of south-western Benin. The commune covers an area of 289 square kilometres and as at the 2013 Census had a population of 57,636 people.

Ganvie is a lake village in Benin, Africa, lying in Lake Nokoué, near Cotonou. With a population of around 20,000 people, it is probably the largest lake village in Africa and is very popular with tourists.

Kétou is a medium-sized town in Benin. It is the seat of a very old Yoruba kingdom and therefore has a particularly strong cultural heritage. Kétou is very much off the beaten-track, making for an interesting visit.

Avrankou is a town in Southern Benin. The original is derived from Avlan and KOU. Later, the French changed the name to its present as they found Avlankou difficult to pronounce.Aguégués
