It is located on two railway lines: the Lower Elbe Railway, which runs between Cuxhaven and Hamburg, and the Bremerhaven–Buxtehude line of the Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser to Bremervörde. Buxtehude station is situated 3 km east of FriedWald Buxtehude.
