Construction of the station started in middle 2012 and opened to service in September 26, 2015. Ningbo University is situated 620 metres northwest of 老行政楼.

The Mingzhou Bridge carries the East Ring Road North over the Yong River in Ningbo, Zhejiang in the People's Republic of China. It connects Zhenhai and Beilun districts. The bridge is one of the largest arch bridge in the world with a 450 metres main span. Mingzhou Bridge is situated 1½ km east of 老行政楼.
