The station is primarily used for international Eurostar and long-distance SNCF TGV services, although some high-speed regional trains also call at the station. Gare de Lille Europe is situated 440 metres south of Jardin des Géants.

The Parc Henri Matisse is a public park and gardens in the Euralille district of Lille, adjacent to Lille-Europe station. The park was designed by Gilles Clément, after he opposed plans to construct a multi-purpose urban building in this location. Parc Henri Matisse is situated 310 metres southwest of Jardin des Géants.
