It is situated between Pitäjänmäki railway station and Leppävaara railway station and is about nine kilometres northwest of Helsinki Central railway station. Mäkkylä railway station is situated 730 metres northeast of Vermon ilma-vesilämpöpumppulaitos.

Vermo is the largest harness racing track in Finland. The track was opened in 1977. It is located in the Leppävaara district of Espoo, but is officially regarded as the racecourse of the neighbouring Helsinki. Vermo is situated 530 metres east of Vermon ilma-vesilämpöpumppulaitos.
