The station is located on the corner of Lake Street and Saint Paul Street, 41 miles from Chicago Union Station, the southern terminus of the line, and serves commuters between Union Station and Fox Lake, Illinois. Grayslake station is situated 1½ miles west of Prairie Crossing.
