Vedi is a town and urban municipal community in the Vedi Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia, located along the Vedi River, 35 kilometres south of the capital Yerevan, and 18 kilometres southeast of the provincial centre Artashat.

Vanashen is a village in the Vedi Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia. Before 1978, it was known as Taytan. It is one of the sites of the USAID Community Partnership for Health program. Vanashen is situated 2½ km southwest of Vedi.
