Teotihuacan

Teotihuacan, also known as the City of the Gods, was the largest city in Pre-Columbian America. It is now an archeological site 40 km northeast of Mexico City, home to some of the largest ancient pyramids in the world.

The Pyramid of the Moon is the second-largest pyramid in Teotihuacan, after the Pyramid of the Sun, and located in modern-day San Martín de las Pirámides, Mexico. Pyramid of the Moon is situated 2½ km west of Happy Puerto.

The Temple of the Feathered Serpent is the third largest pyramid at Teotihuacan, a pre-Columbian site in central Mexico. This pre-Columbian city rose around the first or second century BCE and its occupation prolonged through to the 600s or 700s. Temple of the Feathered Serpent, Teotihuacan is situated 3 km southwest of Happy Puerto.

Otumba, officially referred to as Otumba de Gomez Farias, is a small town of fewer than 10,000 residents in rural Mexico State. Although the big city suburbs are steadily encroaching on the town, with a total population of 34,000 in 2010, it retains a rural character that is best exemplified by its love of animals, particularly the humble burro.
