Rossland is a small mountain city in Southern British Columbia, Canada. Rossland was built in the 1890s as a gold mining town, and has become a lovely city of 3,700 people.

Trail is a small city of 7,700 people in the West Kootenays region of interior southeast British Columbia. The city is about 10 km north of the USA border at Waneta and about 25 km from Castlegar, a town also on the Columbia River.
