The Großes Festspielhaus, in its current form, was designed by architect Clemens Holzmeister in 1956 for the Salzburg Festival in Austria. It was inaugurated on 26 July 1960 with a performance of Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier conducted by Herbert von Karajan, who also worked with Holzmeister on aspects of the building's design. Großes Festspielhaus is situated 110 metres west of Max-Reinhardt-Platz.

Mozart's birthplace is a house museum in Austria at No. 9 Getreidegasse in Salzburg, Austria. The Mozart family resided on the third floor from 1747 to 1773, and Mozart was born in the residence on 27 January 1756. Mozart’s birthplace is situated 160 metres northeast of Max-Reinhardt-Platz.
