Mystras

Mystras is a fortress town and archaeological site in Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece, known for its ruins from the Byzantine era. During its heyday as a medieval city, it was the capital of the Despotate of Morea, a rump state that was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in the mid-15th century shortly after the fall of Constantinople.

The Pantanassa Monastery is a former Eastern Orthodox monastery, now nunnery, located in Mystras, in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It was founded by a chief minister of the late-Byzantine Despotate of the Morea, Giannis Frankopoulos, and was dedicated in September 1428. Pantanassa Monastery is situated 150 metres southwest of Αγίου Χριστοφόρου.

The Peribleptos Monastery is a late Byzantine-era monastery in Mystras, Greece. It was probably built in the mid-14th century by the first Despot of the Morea, Manuel Kantakouzenos, and named after one of the most celebrated monasteries of Byzantine Constantinople. Peribleptos Monastery is situated 210 metres south of Αγίου Χριστοφόρου.
