The school first opened in 1927 as Runnymede High School by the York Township High School Board, which became the Board of Education for the City of York until 1998. Runnymede Collegiate Institute is situated 350 metres southeast of Royal Canadian Legion.

Lambton House is a historic former inn in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is the last remaining building from the former village of Lambton Mills along the Humber River.
