It was constructed at various stages between 1954 and 2005, although the building is still incomplete, lacking bell towers. The arch was originally built in 1615 as part of the Wignacourt Aqueduct, but it was destroyed in 1943 and 1944. Wignacourt Arch is situated 440 metres west of Francis Busuttil and Sons.
