The Casa Solariega de José de Diego, also known as the Lería Esmoris Residence, is a historic home built in 1897. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and on the Puerto Rico Register of Historic Sites and Zones in 2003. La Casa Solariega de Jose De Diego is situated 250 metres southwest of Puente Balboa.

The Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, or in English Our Lady of the Candelaria Cathedral, is the cathedral for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mayagüez located in the eastern end of the Colón Main Square facing the town hall in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria is situated 400 metres west of Puente Balboa.
