The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a salt mine in the town of Wieliczka, near Kraków in southern Poland. From Neolithic times, sodium chloride was produced there from the upwelling brine. Wieliczka Salt Mine is situated 300 metres west of Żupny Castle.
