Merville is an unincorporated community in the Comox Valley between the City of Courtenay, Mount Washington, Dove Creek, and Black Creek near the east coast of Vancouver Island. Merville is situated 4½ km northeast of Beaver Pond.

Black Creek is a community on the eastern side of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is approximately 16 kilometres north of Courtenay. It is primarily an agricultural hamlet and bedroom community to Courtenay and Campbell River - approximately 20 kilometres to the north. Black Creek is situated 10 km north of Beaver Pond.
