It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Solothurn–Moutier line of BLS AG and is served by local trains only. Lommiswil railway station is situated 620 metres south of Old church St. Germann.

The Lommiswil tracksite preserves fossil tracks of sauropod dinosaurs from the Late Jurassic epoch. The tracksite is located in the Jura Mountains in Switzerland, north of the village of Lommiswil and near the city of Solothurn, in limestones of the Reuchenette Formation. Lommiswil tracksite is situated 1½ km north of Old church St. Germann.
