The station is located between the towns of Regensdorf and Watt on the Wettingen-Effretikon railway line, within fare zone 111 of the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund. Regensdorf-Watt railway station is situated 1 km southeast of Grütpark.

Katzensee is a lake on the border of the city of Zürich and Regensdorf in the Canton of Zürich, Switzerland. Its surface area is 36 ha. There is also a public bath/lido Strandbad Katzensee on its southern shore.
