Lutsk Castle, also locally known as Liubart's Castle or Upper Castle, began its life in the mid-14th century as the fortified seat of Gediminas' son Liubartas, the last ruler of united Galicia-Volhynia. Lubart’s Castle is situated 250 metres east of Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral.
