Jelgava Station

Jelgava Station is the main railway station serving the city of Jelgava in the Semigallia region of southern Latvia. The station is located in the central part of the city, on the southeastern edge of the historic town centre, and a short distance west of the Lielupe River.

Jelgava Gymnasium or Academia Petrina is the oldest higher educational establishment in Latvia. Based on an idea by Friedrich Wilhelm von Raison, it was established in Mitau, capital of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia, by Duke Peter von Biron in 1775. Academia Petrina is situated 1 km north of Jelgava Station.
