Baumann’s Cave

Baumann's Cave, located nearby Hermann's Cave, is a show cave in Rübeland in the district of Harz and is Germany's oldest show cave. The grotto was formed in the Devonian limestone of the Elbingerode Complex at least since the Bode Valley was being shaped. Baumann’s Cave is situated 260 metres west of Hermann’s Cave.

Elbingerode is an Ortsteil of Oberharz am Brocken in the Harz district, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The former town was incorporated into the newly established municipality on 1 January 2010. Its population is 3,101. Elbingerode is situated 3½ km northwest of Hermann’s Cave.

Wendefurth is a hamlet in central Germany that, since 1 July 2009, has been part of the borough of Thale district of Harz. Previously it belonged to the municipality of Altenbrak which was incorporated into Thale. Wendefurth is situated 5 km east of Hermann’s Cave.
