The Fire Island Lighthouse is a visible landmark on the Great South Bay, in southern Suffolk County, New York, on the western end of Fire Island, a barrier island off the southern coast of Long Island. Fire Island Lighthouse is situated 1,200 feet northwest of Lighthouse Beach.

With approximately 350 homes within its 13-block town limits, the town features a few stores and other amenities, giving it old-style charm with the security of a state-of-the-art Fire Department and EMS. Fair Harbor is situated 1½ miles east of Lighthouse Beach.
