Monastiraki

Monastiraki is an interchange station on the Athens Metro, between Lines 1 and 3. The original surface station on Line 1 opened on 17 May 1895. It became an interchange point of the network when the underground station of Line 3 opened on 22 April 2003.

Hadrian's Library is the ruin of a monumental building created by Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD 132 on the north side of the . The main entrance to the library was part of the Stoa of Hadrian with columns of Karystian marble and Pentelic capitals. is situated 130 metres southeast of Monastiraki.
