The mosque was built in the early 16th century, during the Ottoman era, by İskender Bey Evrenosoğlu, after whom it was named, who was the grandson of Gazi Evrenos, the founder of Giannitsa. Iskender Bey Mosque is situated 1¼ km southwest of Πάρκιγνκ Νοσοκομείου.
