The garden was originally established in 1912 by Professor Gustav Lehmann on the grounds of the Joachimsthalschen Gymnasium, and used for educational and experimental purposes. Lehmann-Garten is situated 3½ km northwest of Spielplatz Templin-Ahrensdorf.
