It is located at the junction of the 1,000 mm metre gauge Appenzell–St. Gallen–Trogen and Gossau–Wasserauen lines of Appenzell Railways. Appenzell Castle is a castle in the Appenzell District of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden in Switzerland. It is one of a few 16th century stone buildings in Appenzell. It is part of the Swiss heritage site of national significance. Appenzell Castle is situated 320 metres northwest of Blauen Haus.
