The Frankenberg Castle is a castle in the Frankenberg area of Aachen-Mitte, itself a district of Aachen, Germany. Its name comes from the concept of a "Franke", which was a type of castle that did not owe fealty to any others. Frankenberg Castle is situated 250 metres northwest of Bürgerpark Moltkebahnhof.

One of the oldest cathedral buildings in Europe, it was constructed as the royal chapel of the Palace of Aachen of Emperor Charlemagne, who was buried there in 814.
