Fort Saint-Nicolas

Fort Saint-Nicolas is a former military fort in Marseille. It's the sister fort to Fort Saint-Jean which was constructed at the same time. After an uprisings in 1630–31 and the Fronde in 1648–1652, the young King Louis XIV had two large forts, fort St. Fort Saint-Nicolas is situated 150 metres east of Tennis du Pharo.

It was inaugurated on 7 June 2013 as part of Marseille-Provence 2013, a year when Marseille was designated as the European Capital of Culture. Museum of Civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean is situated 650 metres north of Tennis du Pharo.

The Palais du Pharo is a palace in Marseille, southern France, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, west of the Old Port. It was built in Second Empire style by Emperor Napoleon III for Empress Eugénie, starting in 1858. Palais du Pharo is situated 410 metres northwest of Tennis du Pharo.
