The Historic Centre of Sighișoara is the old historic center of the town of , , built in the 12th century by Saxon settlers. It is an inhabited medieval citadel that, in 1999, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its 850-year-old testament to the history and culture of the Transylvanian Saxons. is situated 220 metres northeast of Butchers‘ Tower.

The Ropemakers' Tower, one of the nine towers located inside the Citadel of , in , has currently been turned into a guard house for the cemetery of the church, it is the only inhabited tower among the nine left. is situated 110 metres south of Butchers‘ Tower.
