The University of Hamburg is a public research university in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded on 28 March 1919 by combining the previous General Lecture System, the Hamburg Colonial Institute, and the Academic College.

The Heinrich Hertz Tower is a landmark radio telecommunication tower in the city of Hamburg, Germany. Designed by architect Fritz Trautwein, in co-operation with civil engineers Jörg Schlaich, Rudolf Bergermann and Fritz Leonhardt, the tower was built between 1965–1968 for the former Deutsche Bundespost near Planten un Blomen park. Heinrich-Hertz-Turm is situated 470 metres south of Zoological Museum Hamburg.
