Liberty Building

Liberty Building served as one of two executive office buildings of the President of Uruguay. It was built in the 1970s during the military government for the Ministry of Defense, but in 1985, president Julio María Sanguinetti decided to move the presidential office to that building.

The institution, located in the Jacinto Vera neighborhood, was established in the 1940s, while its current facilities were inaugurated in 2024 following a major renovation. Hospital Filtro is situated 380 metres west of Liberty Building.
