Officially called Signal Iduna Park for sponsorship reasons and BVB Stadion Dortmund in UEFA competitions, the name derives from the former Prussian province of Westphalia. Westfalenstadion is situated 2 km west of Kiefernbrunnen.

The Florianturm is the TV tower of Dortmund and was built in 1959 as an attraction for a federal horticultural show with a height of 219.6 metres. Florianturm is situated 210 metres west of Kiefernbrunnen.
