Jilava is a commune in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, near Bucharest. It is composed of a single village, Jilava. The name derives from a Romanian word of Slavic origin meaning "humid place".

Giurgiului is a neighborhood in the southern part of the Romanian capital Bucharest, in Sector 5, near Berceni and Ferentari. Like Berceni, Giurgiului has many 10-storey blocks of flats that were built under Communist rule, starting with 1959–1964. Giurgiului is situated 4 km north of Cimitirul Mierlari.
