The Skalnaté pleso Observatory is an astronomical and meteorological observatory located in the locality of the same name in the High Tatra Mountains in Slovakia, at coordinates and at an altitude of 1,786 metres on the south-eastern slopes of Lomnický štít near Tatranská Lomnica. Skalnaté pleso Observatory is situated 200 metres north of Stanica Skalnaté pleso.

Skalnaté pleso is a lake located in the High Tatras mountains in the north of Slovakia. The highest wind speed ever recorded in Slovakia was recorded here on 29 November 1965, when a wind with the speed of 78,6 m/s was recorded.

Hrebienok is a small ski resort in the Tatra Mountains, in northern Slovakia. It is connected by the Starý Smokovec–Hrebienok funicular to the town of Starý Smokovec, which is in turn part of the Tatra Electric Railway. Hrebienok is situated 3½ km south of Stanica Skalnaté pleso.
