The Tempodrom is a multi-purpose event venue in Berlin. Founded by Irene Moessinger, it opened in 1980 next to the Berlin Wall on the west side of Potsdamer Platz, housed in a large circus tent. Tempodrom is situated 260 metres northwest of Postbank-Hochhaus.

Friedrichstadt was an independent suburb of Berlin, and is now a historical neighbourhood of the city itself. The neighbourhood is named after the Prussian king Frederick I, who founded it in 1691 as the third expansion of the Berlin-Cölln city centre, after Dorotheenstadt and Friedrichswerder.
