Versailles Orangerie

The Versailles Orangerie was built by Jules Hardouin-Mansart between 1684 and 1686, before work on the Château de Versailles had even begun. The Orangerie, which replaced Louis Le Vau's earlier design from 1663, is an example of many such prestigious extensions of grand gardens in Europe designed both to shelter tender plants and impress visitors.
Queen’s Grand Apartment

The grand appartement de la reine is the Queen's grand apartment of the Palace of Versailles. Forming a parallel enfilade with that of the grand appartement du roi, the grand appartement de la reine served as the residence of three Queens of France: Maria Theresa of Spain, Marie Leszczyńska and Marie Antoinette. Queen’s Grand Apartment is situated 110 metres northeast of Parterre du Midi.

The Musée de l'Histoire de France is a museum that was created by King Louis Philippe I in the Palace of Versailles and opened in 1837. At the time, it represented an ambitious project of national reconciliation between the hitherto competing narratives of the French monarchy and the French Revolution, to which Louis-Philippe devoted significant personal attention. Museum of the History of France is situated 130 metres northeast of Parterre du Midi.
