Bent Pyramid

The Bent Pyramid is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at the royal necropolis of Dahshur, approximately 40 kilometres south of Cairo, built under the Old Kingdom Pharaoh Sneferu.

The Red Pyramid, also called the North Pyramid, is the largest of the pyramids located at the Dahshur necropolis in Cairo, Egypt. It is the third largest Egyptian pyramid, after those of Khufu and Khafre at Giza. Red Pyramid is situated 4 km northwest of Monsha’et Dahshur.

The Black Pyramid was built by King Amenemhat III during the late Middle Kingdom of Egypt. It is one of the five remaining pyramids of the original 11 pyramids at Dahshur in Egypt.

Dahshur is an Egyptian archaeological locality some 10 km to the south of Saqqara and therefore 35 km south of the Egyptian capital Cairo. Travellers from Cairo will often combine a visit to Dahshur with a visit to Saqqara on the same day.

Saqqara is the name given both to a village 32 km to the south of the Egyptian capital of Cairo and to the extensive ancient necropolis on the plateau above the Nile Valley, the location of tombs and pyramids dating to the Predynastic, Old Kingdom, New Kingdom and Late Periods of ancient Egyptian history.
