The village is located in the southern part of the Syunik Province, a short distance from the Aras River - the main tributary of the Kura River, which forms the border with Iran and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.Places in the Area

Agarak is a town in the Meghri Municipality of the Syunik Province in southern Armenia, founded in 1949. As of 2011, the population of Agarak was 4,429 and the population of Agarak as of 2022 was 3,210. Agarak is situated 3½ km south of Karchevan.
