Farmleigh
Farmleigh is the official Irish state guest house. It was formerly one of the Dublin residences of the Guinness family. It is situated on an elevated position above the River Liffey to the northwest of the Phoenix Park, in Castleknock. Farmleigh is situated 160 metres southwest of Steward’s Lodge.

Castleknock Castle is a ruined Norman castle in Dublin, Ireland. It is now the site of St. Vincent's Castleknock College, an all-boys Catholic school. The Irish name of Castleknock is Caisleán Cnucha, derived from the older forms Cnoc and Cnucha mentioned in medieval sources. Castleknock Castle is situated 1 km west of Steward’s Lodge.

It was found hidden within the walls of a much larger and more recent Georgian building, the Under Secretary's Lodge also known as Ashtown Lodge, that was being used by the Papal Nuncio until 1978.
