Mount Kita is a mountain of the Akaishi Mountains−"Southern Alps", in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. It is the second highest mountain in Japan, after Mount Fuji, and is known as "the Leader of the Southern Alps". Mount Kita is situated 3½ km southwest of Hirogawara Lodge.
