Tōdai-ji

Tōdai-ji is a Buddhist temple complex that was once one of the powerful Seven Great Temples, located in the city of Nara, Japan. The construction of the temple was an attempt to imitate Chinese temples from the much-admired Tang dynasty. Tōdai-ji is situated 2 km south of Naratsuhiko Shrine.

Hannya-ji is a Buddhist temple of the Shingon Ritsu sect in Nara, Japan. Its foundation is variously dated, but mention in a document in the Shōsōin provides a terminus ante quem of the mid-eighth century. Hannya-ji is situated 500 metres south of Naratsuhiko Shrine.
