Oaonui is a community in the west of Taranaki, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located on State Highway 45, 8 kilometres north of Ōpunake. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "place of many clouds" for Ōaonui. Oaonui is situated 10 km west of Opunake Substation.
