The West Coast Wildlife Centre is a kiwi-rearing facility in Franz Josef, New Zealand. A public-private partnership with the Department of Conservation and Te Rūnunga o Makaawhio of Ngāi Tahu, it hatches eggs of the kiwi species rowi and Haast tokoeka retrieved from the wild. West Coast Wildlife Centre is situated 1½ km south of Franz Josef Substation.

Saint James Church

St James Church is an heritage-listed Anglican church located in Franz Josef on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Set in a garden setting, the church was built in 1931 in a Tudor Revival style and is notable for its use of clear glass windows and the view over Waiho Gorge from its altar. Saint James Church is situated 2 km south of Franz Josef Substation.
